lightest antivirus for old computer

    I'm not a newbie, but not a specialist ... perhaps between !

    I'll ask you with humility : what is the lighest product for old computer : (only antivirus) :

    Dr.Web
    Antivir premium
    Rising antivirus

    I' don't know wich product is the best for very old XP SP3.

    I am sorry, we are not allowed to give A vs. B on this forum. Personally I would test each of those products on your own machine and see how light they feel :D

    Please excuse me if I'm misunderstood, I don't ask on a comparison or A vs B, but only on your feeling of this products on the response time of a computer (specially on boot).

    You are right, the best is to test each product myself !

    Depending upon the RAM you have, instead of running an AV in real-time, think about running Sandboxie or Geswall in real-time and use an AntiVirus/AntiSpyware scanner on-demand only.

    vonvon, please review this Posting Policy Statement - Antivirus Software. Asking which is best would undoubtedly result in an A vs. B thread.

    There is enough posted information on every available Anti-virus program here at Wilders to make an informed decision. Spend the time searching and you'll come up with your own answer. You are always welcome to ask any specific question about any specific Anti-virus program. This thread is closed.
