    Hello!

My friend have a old laptop and he needs a little more security on it. All-In-One Security Suite is best option but what's the fastest and lightest?! I don't want to test myself all of those so please give a comment if you have tested any.

EDIT: I use search and found this thread: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=151142&highlight=lightest suite. Any comments about AntiVir Suite?! If you are me which one you take?

When you say "lightest" do you then mean, fewest ram or the more important CPU usage?

Generally speaking Kaspersky 6.0 internet security is light, just make a full on-demand scan first.

    I would sergest the following.

antivir suite, notes since you say an old laptop and dont say which os its running it needs windows 2000 or XP to run.
    kaspersky suite
    avg internet secuirty

lightest on ram usage is bitdefender 10

fastest (as in pc performance and boot times ) is by far, avg suite.

    quick scan speed: panda / nod32 ?

best support (through quick live chat): trend 2007 / bullguard

I'd have to suggest either antivir or avg security suites. Both are very light and easy to use.

Thanks for help. I try first KIS and AVG then AntiVir. Are of those tree in same security level? I mean, is AV, FW, AS etc. components good enough?! I asking that because Security Suite is only security program in that computer.

PS. Lightest = Use as few resources (RAM&CPU) as possible.

Overall they are probably around the same level, they each have their strong and weak points and they are all pretty light on resources. All of them will keep you safe online, it will really come down to your personal preferences.

Although i don't believe in "All in One" Suites. I have tested some and if i had to use one it would be KIS

It isn't weird to think that All-In-One suites aren't the best sollutions and sometimes they aren't, but just think that if you run 3 separate softwares for av protection, firewall and maybe anti-spyware or something else like anti-spam generally those 3 will give birth to a conflict.

Besides the conflicts there is a visible amount of resources that is consumed by 3 softwares than by a well balanced AIO Suite.

There are many AV/FW combinations that together would use less resources that any of the suites and be perfectly compatable with each other.

I would strongly reccomend KIS 6.0. it has all areas covered only 2 processes and light on resources.
for av's i would recommend kav or nod32.
