American football ISNT football, its a soft version of handball (you may notice that no-one uses their feet as in the name of the game).
If you want a real mans game, then I suggest you look at Rugby.

As for Chelsea doing the treble, that will never happen.

Try picking yourself up off the field after being hit by a 350# lineman and tell me it's not a "mans" game. :D

Did anyone see the Louisville - Miami game Thursday? So much for Miami's defense that prior to this game had only given up 1 touchdown. I was really impressed by Louisville, even if they didn't win.

    Regardless of the current stats...
I am and always have/will be a GB Packers fan.
Brett Favre is one of the greatest QB's to ever grace a field.
He's never missed a game (unlike the wanna-be hero Troy Aikmen who sat out for two games with "turf toe")

I know they are 1-4 right now, but the season is far from over and I think they have a good chance of making it to the playoffs and maybe even further.

I live in Texas (DFW) and I'm not a cowboys fan. I watched them when I was younger, because they were winning (11 years ago), but lost interest when they forgot how to play. :p

    PACKERS ALL THE WAY!!!!

i have. the prop (biggest most powerful player on a rugby pitch) at my school played for England U21's we ran at each other in an inter-house match and he almost killed me. Rugby players dont have helmets or padding. ill try and find a picture of him and you'll see what i mean, cant find a picture, lots of the team played for England i dont remember his name.
ill get out of your football thread now :) , before none of you talk to me again. it's probably safe to think that no Aussies will look through this thread, so i'll leave you with a picture of the closest game we have to US football- Rugby

    WORLD CHAMPIONS ENGLAND

Right on, iceni60! Tell it like it is!

And if American football is such a good game, how come it hasn't taken off in other countries?

Actually, that argument falls down with Ozzie rules footy - that's a hell of a game, and hard too, but I don't think they play it outside Australia. :)

Personally, I think that makes it even more appealing. If they started playing it in France, I'd quit watching and take up knitting. :D

ROFL...Keep it coming snowbound, after "the offseason from hell" and the "wonderful" start to the season i'am pretty much bulletprof.

I predict we'll go 11-5 in the regular season and reach the playoff's. Eventually beating the Patriots 35-3 in SUPER BOWL XXXIX. ;) :D  Go Dolphin's !!!!!!

I have to go now there is couple of nice gentlemen in white coat's at my frontdoor, they want to give me a ride in a van with some really cool blue flashing light's, they insist and tell me it's "a very special kind of van". :D :D :D

Same here. Cowboys are struggling, too. I guess the Parcell's Magic isn't everything it was supposed to be... :'(

Can't say the same for my beloved 49ers. :'(

A rare day too Snowbound. I'm not buying any Super Bowl tickets just yet. :D
The 49ers probably don't feel as bad as New England does today.

Yes, it was a good day for the Texas teams. A rare occurrence this season. Add I had such high hopes. :'( Hoping Tuesday is a good day for Texans too. (Oops - probably should not have said that.) :D
