    Good things about this; cheaper solutions for consumers, more competition meaning better products and technology

    Bad things; the really big vendors doesn't get as many samples as they'd get before and provide protection for by signatures

    Enterprise products will always have a strong hold on market share. Not to mention the fact that McAfee is often packaged with computers.

    Indeed, it's great.

    Not really, I think most of the samples are from honeypots.

    They do get from honeypots and by trading. But with more players on the field, the honeypots gets smaller and people are less and less willing to trade with each other (I've been in the honeypot market...) due to contracts with different vendors.

    That's where multi-engines come in. Not that it's a good thing.

    I never knew IBM security software existed and is one of the top 5.

    Me neither. Thought IBM abandoned the security market ages ago (late 90s).
