less sercure equivalent more privacy?

    should we use less secure tools to avoid Governmental attention, and therefor achieve more privacy?
    what do you think, is this a sound reasoning or not?

    No. But it is prudent to first get some anonymity before maxing out on the privacy tools. That way, you're secure, but you don't attract much attention to yourself in meatspace.

    So, use Tor, but through VPNs, so local observers don't see Tor.

    Use Pond, for example, but that's through Tor. And don't tell anyone local that you use Pond. Don't even tell them that you use Tor. Loose lips sink ships ;)
