Many or most freeware-in the loose sense--should be suspected of having malware in some form or another. So if you want to trial out the application do it on a tesk disk if possible.

If not the minimum would be a separate partition dedicated to this unknown entity. Then you can try it out to evaluate if you want to purchase it. :doubt:

Ouch I can imagine a lot of people becoming a victim with this.

So how many times do you think it would get downloaded?

    maybe 40,000 50,000 times?

that's another 40,000 or 50,000 zombie computers for hackers.

Are these kind of malware harder to detect or remove because they are installed along with OS and before you install any AV? o_O

Some of the leaked copies contained malware and some did not. Easy to check, MS posted the SHA1 and MD5 publicly before it was released. All anyone had to do is check the SHA1. Most people probably did not though, and some got bitten.

What's the point of grabbing a pirated copy of win7 RC when you can simply get it directly from Microsoft? o_O

Because it was out sooner and more people on the torrent means faster download unlike overloaded MS servers. BTW, just downloaded 7127 via torrent.
MD5 and SHA1 can be found here. As for the licence, RC licence applies to all betas until RTM version gets out, so there should be no problem activating it.

I have been trying to find out, but so far nothing. At least I know, that upgrade will cause some aplications to fail like Daemon Tools, they have to be reinstalled.

When I tried upgrade from vista premium to 7,it checked and said DT would be the only one to have problem. But after the upgrade, most of the windows functions crashed. :'(

    Windows 7 Build 7137 leaked, MD5 a SHA1 available here. ;)

EDIT: On 7. June Build will be released, which will be marked as RTM on 30. June and it will be available for sale on 5. October. Consider it as a pure speculation.

A little info about Windows 7, which I got from torrent update (Windows 7 SP1 on the way, so 7201 might be RTM?):

    MD5 and SHA1 here as allways: http://news.softpedia.com/news/Windows-7-Up-to-Build-7201-113308.shtml
