This doesn't look like it's any different than what's already on the freebie market. I guess the free yahoo search will come in handy though :cautious:

Does it show search result ratings like WOT/Siteadvisor? :doubt:

Nope, but the toolbar uses google instead of yahoo. :)

So it's actually just another URL blacklist with some functionality which is already available in the browser itself: Easy search field(every browser already has a search field and the ones that don't have one have it integrated with the URL bar, don't know why toolbar devs keep putting it in and claim it's nice and easy..), Clear private data(with most browsers it's already done in just 2 clicks and there are tons of addons to do this in 1 click with extra panic-button like functionality such as close the browser, load homepage etc. Most browsers can also be configured to clear automatically on close), Browser cleaner(browsers already have addon menu's from which you can easily disable and/or remove addons, some newer versions even block 3rd party addons by default or prompt user if the addon makes browser start-up time to long.)
They could have chosen to create a browser addon with just a small button, or just not visible at all except in the browser menu's and the block page obviously, now it's just another toolbar..

It doesn't actually scan pages, it checks if the URL is in the database:
"Ad-Aware Security Toolbar constantly checks sites against a constantly updated list of reported phishing and malware infected sites. The list is updated every 5-20 minutes and provides real-time browsing protection against the latest web-based exploits, from back door Trojans to phishing sites."

Hm.. The last sentence made me believe it provided actual realtime browsing protection. My bad. :)
