I'm finally downloading it after 10 retries. :D It's 4527 kb. Very nice work ESET! :thumb: Wish you get 99.99% on av-comparatives.org test. :D
100% would be maybe impossible because nobody is perfect, right? :p

    Surely not :D :D :D

But at least Eset, unlike some other vendors, have the time and the analysts to add the samples.

    I can't update yet.
It is 22.33hs (GMT) and every tiem I clikc in update now an aswer "your version od NOD32 is up to date. No update necessary" but my signature database is 1.1677.

Why don't ESET put this update about 5mb to download from some server if we can't update and the install manually?

And so when can I update my antivirus?
    I really don't know.

I clik again and again and again and so 20/30 times and every time says my version is update,

    AND IT ISN'T

Kaspersky has at least two options, automatic update an download from kav and install manually. Why Eset don't do the same if his server are to bussy?

I'm thinking in change my antivirus to Kav if I can't update today. It is not serious from ESET.

Then this is quite a possibility, as the update is a catch up on less important samples as quoted by Marcos. If you want to jump ship over something so minor then that is your prerogative.

    something so minor:D :D :D

This update is about 5mb so that is not only "less important samples" I think and if it is, ESET must say that so we wait without nervious.

It's fairly easy to understand why automatic updates (of this size) would be staged, but why wouldn't "Update now" work every time for anyone? It's not like NOD32 users around the world are going to coordinate and press it all at the same time to crash the server or anything -- especially given that there are automatically multiple servers.

Perhaps you would like to run the "Update now" a few times?

Speaking from my own personal experience, I have updated to 1.1678 by doing that. :)

    It stands for Advanced Heuristics.

I think that the mere fact that ESET gave us an update that is as large as this one was shows that it is a very dedicated company. I have not seen an update this large from any other AV company, and by large I mean the number of definitions added not the size of the update. If they were not commited then why not just say "the hell with it?" Also, I don't think they are adding definitions in order to win awards as previously suggested. ESET has nothing left to prove; its reputation speaks for itself.

Switching AVs just because you cannot currently get the update seems rather needless and frankly petty, as if you were alreadfy on the fence. (A feeling I know very well) I use NOD (yes I said it) for the reasons I mentioned above. If you are "jumping ship" not being able to get the update has nothing to do with that decision.
