    Those who update ESS/EAV on a regular basis actually received a very small update.

    @Marcos:
    I'm still running 2.7 (licensed version) and I update regularly. Yesterday there were some problems with the automatic updates for 2.7.

    The latest definition file I had installed was 2759 and although I had seen that version 2761 was available already NOD kept saying that I was up-to-date (other users had similar experiences). When I tried a manual update a few minutes later NOD downloaded a huge file (8 megs) and updated to 2762.
    So although I update daily it still downloaded this huge file. Is this normal or are there other problems I might not be aware of?

    I was talking about ESS/EAV, v2 users had to download the large update file.

    Could that have caused the delay in the automatic update? I could only get the file manually...

    Right. ESS/EAV users don't have this problem as they normally receive only small updates.

    OK, good to know that. What was in the 2.7 update that made it so large?
    The next updates will go as normal then (automatic instead of manual)?

    Up to some point they will be reasonably small. Then the same large update will occur again. If you install ESS or EAV and update it on a regular basis, all updates will be very small.

    But they still should be automatically updated, right (I update daily so I didn't expect to run into problems in the first place)? Or do we have to update manually from now on? Is the large update also supposed to be provided automatically?

    Yes, updates will be downloaded automatically. However, hitting the Update now button will force update at any time, even if the servers are fully busy distributing an update to clients.

    OK, so even the big ones then (like yesterday's 8 meg update)?
