I'd like to protect our production server Windows 2003 (LAN) from inLAN network attacks say from an infected workstations?

Should be light and shouldn't steal the server from the LAN: public services are running on it (Exchange Server, SQL server, etc).

The most reliable but old fashioned server firewall is 8signs Firewall though I do not know if its security is enough these days.

Outpost Firewall Pro 4.0 has enough security given and easy for administration.

If you want IDS/IPS you can try Eeye Blink endpoint security 2.5 but it does not work the same on all the systems.

Of course you can wait for the new Sunbelt-Kerio Server Firewall 2.0
It is exactly what you want but development by Kerio has been stop and I think it will take a long by Sunbelt.

    Regards

It looks like a packet filter product

Doesn't look "optimized" (Hassle free) for servers.

    Why not current version?
