    Something awesome: a review of KolibriOS, an open-source operating system written in Assembly, boasting extremely small size and super-fast performance, with lots of useful programs, utilities and games, plus a Youtube boot time video demonstration. You really ought to take a look.

    It's cool to see what's possible. Larger operating systems offer a lot more functionality, but I wonder how much more compact and fast they could be if they were coded more efficiently? Could they be?
