We get it, it has a lot of techie features. You don't need to start throwing around quotes from dead people. It doesn't make you look wise, I promise. My point is only this, who bloody cares what features it has if it doesn't work right (in my case), or doesn't have anything special to make people switch from their player (in Funky's case)?

@Funky: I downloaded MPC 64 last night, it's okay I guess. I don't see any noticeable difference between it and VLC myself. Still, it's free, it doesn't crash like the last version of MPC I had (32 bit), so I'll keep it around :)

@Champ: Indeed I have tried Potplayer.

Me neither. I tried it because it was recommended by the media player crowd but it seems to act the same to me. The only reason I use it over VLC is it has a 64bit version.

Of course; at this point I can say that I've done with this thread because like you said, who bloody cares? I have better things to do instead of trying to make people think out of the box and try something new. Do you think MPC is the best media player in the world? Good for you, keep it and use it forever. Good luck with it.:thumb:

This version is old as of yesterday at FileHippo.com

    Personally like VLC better.

I think everybody should use the player they like and stop criticizing others on their choices. Personally, I use the player that suits me, not because of other people's opinions. I would only change my current player if it lets me down for some reason, not because some says this and that about the player.

So, the above discussion, although informative, is actually pointless.

Lets make peace and move on.

I would not trade my old KMPlayer 2.9.3.1428 for nothing, for none of the other players mentioned here or the newer versions of KMP. This version of KMP does not crash, plays everything and it has more features than the other players mentioned on this thread.

A important features that KMP have, that MPC-HC does not have, is "Frame step back".

Can't help but giggle. At the end of the day there really isn't feature differences between players, it becomes more about the minor things like: Does the player have a 64bit build, does the player violate other software licenses, etc. :)

There may not be feature difference but the capability of the player playing HD files - for eg potplayer and kmplayer work flawlessly whereas mpc stuttured on my pc ... vlc takes time to open those files but it doesnt give a smooth playing like pot and kmp do

@The Seeker, Yes but you need to hit the Control key and another key in the keyboard. On KMP the feature is right on the UI. Its more relax and easy to use. To me having to use the keyboard in order to use that feature is the same as not having the feature available.

I have reasonable hardware and it works flawless. Then again I don't overkill my system with security software. I also use the latest video drivers.

The ninite.com version seemed the cleanest.

Filehippo was actually pushing a fake version.

I use Daum Pot Player for video. Kmplayer for music.

Pandora services removed. Locked down in firewall from pinging Korean servers upon startup.

    Great skins at deviant
