I have heard that KAV leaves behind object ID's as part of its Iswift scanning, even after uninstall. Is there any issue of uninstalling KIS and just leaving the object ID's alone? I am wanting to give Avira's suite a try and don't want any conflicts happening.

Then again, is removing the object ID's much of a task? Is there a tool for this? Will the tool at the link below remove them safely?

    thanks

    No
    Should not be a problem
No, but it may take time
No, you have to use the fsutil utility that's part of the OS
No, see here for command line invocation of fsutil.

if you are running vista you do need to make sure you have control over the user account and have admin full priveledges.. otherwise almost all the files will be denied access. just so you know
