Baidu uses Avira engine + Kaspersky engine + a cloud engine (don't know if it's their own o_O).
It's still in BETA you should wait until FINAL is out.

    guys.. check this out:

    http://www.thewindowsclub.com/baidu-antivirus-windows

Baidu Antivirus' GUI is very similar to the one that kingsoft owns.. So i think this is the new kingsoft :thumb:

I don't believe that Baidu uses kaspersky engine.. it's much like a rumor

Believe me it uses them, HEUR:Win32.Generic ..... Trojan.Spy.... are Kaspersky's signatures, some guys at Malwaretips also noticed that.

But from what I can read, it does not include KingSoft's cloud (kcloud) ... KingSoft's cloud engine is really powerfull :thumb:

I think they are ( updating the DB )
just because of this u came to that conclusion ? nowadays most of the signature names in various AVs are alike. I believe kaspersky won't share its engine with any other company ;)

KingSoft AV (old versions) used Kaspersky engine ...
I'm sure Baidu uses Kaspersky's engine, same signatures all the time!?

Probably safe to assert that kingsoft cloud has been abandoned and incorporated into baidu.?

Wonder how long baidu will last before it transforms into something else with a new brand name.:cautious:

Kingsoft is a well known software company and i would have thought from a marketing point of view that they should have remained with the kingsoft name.

How many people on here have actually heard of baidu..?

    Oops, sorry.

Hmmmm... KSAV won't let me exclude entire folders. Is that a bug, or a feature?

Kingsoft antivirus 2012 site does not show version 5.7. So does nayone know if indeed this is a update or not? From my searches, it seems that all the download sites for 5.7 is from or based on softpediao_O

Please let us know if it is 5.6 or 5.7?
