Maybe I should start using Kingsoft again, as Roboscan let ZeroAccess infect my system. It was easily removed with MBAM, but obviously I would rather have not been infected.

I just remembered why I didn't reinstall Kingsoft after I upgraded to 64 bit Windows 7 (I transferred several hundreds program across to my 64 bit Windows but excluded security apps, as I figure it was best to install them from scratch). In certain cases threats will be quarantined without user intervention. For this reason I won't use Kingsoft again until if or when this is changed. The same applies to all AVs which will quarantine files without asking first.

Using all the default settings of Kingsoft, I have had it running along with avast! free for the last couple of months with no problems. I should note that this is on a XP computer. Not sure about MSE. Amin should be able to answer that.

I agree. It looks ok, but I like the current version. I believe in 2013, their is a blue skin similar to the current version. At least there was in the beta of 2013 I tried.

    Hi Robin

Sorry, I hadn't seen your posts.

Not yet, but "Download shield" automatically scans your incoming data.

Sure, it's already tested while being alongside of MSE.
It works just fine. but remember to keep kingsoft on default settings.
    I'm sure you'll have a good day tomorrow. :)
you'd better install it now to make sure that it works fine :)
    Good luck

    Regards,
    Amin

Amin, if you were to take a guess, will KAV 2013 be available to the USA users before the end of the year (Dec 31) or after?

Ok I installed it on my desktop running Windows 7 Pro sp1 64bit and the laptop running the same.
The only thing that happened is Windows came up and said i had 2 antivirus's on and to disable one because one might not work properly. I did not disable either one on both machines.
Other than that it seems to be working fine with it

I took it out to not start up in startup in my laptop (just in case) I do not have time today nor tomorrow to really test it to make sure it is not interfering with MSE but I want the opportuntiy to show it.

I also put it in VNWARE where i am running Windows 8 consumer Preview
It also loaded and installed fine (both pc and laptop are running it)
But it also complained that i have two antivirus programs running and i should turn one off.

If yours can run along side of the others, then you should make it so Windows does not get upset :)

I install Kingsoft again last night, as I thought it was worth giving it another try.

As before I am impressed by the incredibly fast install time, along with the fast scans and very little system impact. However, it has problems with false positives. One particular concern I have is that when a file is detected by heuristics or as a generic trojan, when you click to get more information on the threat, you are given a list of malicious actions which the file does. However, since its a heuristic detction, it's possible that the file is actually clean. Or, it may have been detected based on it being considered a rogue or unwanted software - in which case it is also quie possibly harmless.

There needs to be a clear distinction made between actual threats and possible threats/rogues/unwanted software to indicate the latter categories may not be hamful.

    Edit:
I'm not home right now, so can't post a screenshot to clarify what I am saying.
