Im currently using linux lite 2.8 with the 3.13.0.62 kernel.Does this kernel need to be updated or can i stick with this version.? Thanks.
It looks to be supported by Ubuntu Kernel Team until April this year, so you're probably okay until then. -https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/Dev/ExtendedStable Maybe an updated kernel will be available after that time, but I can't say for sure.
I'm on Code: 03:19 PM ~ $ uname -r 3.13.0-77-generic 03:26 PM ~ $ I'm running Lubuntu 14.04.3 LTS. Have you been offered a kernel update? What do you see with sudo apt-get update followed by sudo apt-get dist-upgrade?
Then it's being maintained somewhere I hope. And isn't this Kernel also being used on Ubuntu 14.04.3? So you have two organizations maintaining it.
@fblais, do you get any output with dpkg -l | grep linux-hwe-generic? See http://askubuntu.com/a/248936 and https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack for more about HWE.
I ran sudo aptitude full upgrade in the terminal on linux lite and it updated.I wish lite had the same kernel updating function as mint.
