Could you give me some information about your experience for Kerio PF 4.1.3?
What are the advantages or disadvantages of this firewall?
And, Could you compare it with other alternatives? (for example, agnitum outpost pro 2.6)
    Thanks and regards.

I currently use Kerio 4.1.3 and am very happy with it. I have used many firewalls and have tried, in no particular order, Jetico, Sygate, Kerio 2.1.5, Softperfect, Look'n'Stop, Outpost Free, ZoneAlarm Free and many others. My favourites are Jetico, Sygate and Kerio, but Jetico drove me mad with too many alerts.

I can't think of any minus points for the Kerio really, which is is probably why I have settled on that one in the end. It's a fairly lightweight firewall and it does the job well. Now it's been on here a few months, I forget it's there unless I install something new which needs internet access.

I haven't tried it against Outpost Pro as it works very well and costs nothing, so I don't see the need to pay for another firewall. If, however you want the plugin feature, Outpost Pro would be the one for you.

    Hope that helps.

I have tried the 4.2 beta's since they began, and generally they seem pretty good, but with a few problems in each one. The latest RC2 seems to have some kind of loopback/proxy problem but I'm not sure. I prefer to wait till the final 4.2 before passing judgement on it though.

I'm running the beta too. ;) RC2 does improve the hanging issue when viewing the network log ... but hips seems to generate a few weird results. Overall Kerio is my favourite FW :)

i have used zone alarm pro, outpost pro, and a few others. but nothing has impressed me more than kerio, it's very light on resources, doesn't slow down internet connections and it works perfectly. it also has ad blocking, which i think every firewall should have. it runs very smooth, and does it's job. i have never had any problems with it. i would highly recommend it.

i am using kerio 4.1.3 right now. i don't want to use the beta version. i would rather wait for the final version, then have a version that has a bunch of bugs probably.

Yes, I agree with you. I used Outpost pro 2.6 and compared with KPF 4.1.3. Kerio runs more smoothly. My internet surf and weg pages refreshing speed increased with kerio 4.1.3 after than outpost pro 2.6.
I can only say that web security options/functions don't be usefull if I use Avant Browser. But, these web security options work with IE, Firefox, Netscape and opera. Only, I have problem with Avant Browser. Dou you have this problem and know solution?
And, dou you compare Kerio 4.1.3 with outpost pro 2.6? (advantages and disadvantages)
    Thanks and regards.

The Kerio 4 series has been plagued with problems. I was a devoted Kerio fan, ran 2.1.5 for ages, but I installed 4.1.3 here and the thing slowed my computer down to a crawl. 1.8 GHz, 256M, W2K SP4, and I was back to the 486 days, listening to the hard drive clicking waiting for everything to happen. Computer back up to speed after uninstall. Many similar experiences reported on the Kerio forums. Sorry, but I won't endorse this one.

Unfortunately there always seems to be a neverending series of bugs and problems with most of the Kerio 4 releases and betas. I suppose I will always look at each new release, but most of the time it is disappointing..

Yes, I have to agree with donutbandit on this. Kerio 4x is a complete nightmare. Their quality assurance processes leave a lot to be desired.

Kerio 4xx is a sad reflection on the Kerio 2.15 which in every terms defines what an ideal firewall should be.

Kerio 4.1.3 runs as smooth as silk here and has virtually no performance impact at all. I've seen no evidence of bugs or instability whatsoever and would readily recommend it to anyone. To be honest, I have to check the system tray periodically to make sure it's still running as I have no other evidence that it is. Surely that's what a good personal firewall should be like?

Well, I have tried almost all the free firewalls and have settled on Kerio 4.1.3. Although many around here accuse Kerio 4.x as being bloated, I can't honestly see that at all. Still, each to their own. That is after all what free choice is all about :)

Im wondering about the reason why you have so many problems with kerio 4.x.x . As trickyricky said, it runs smoothly on my pc without any evidence of bugs. Possibly the hardware is the reason?

Could you compare Kerio 4.1.3 with Agnitum Outpost Pro 2.6 ?

    I have a few comparison;
    - Internet surfing speed was more slow with outpost, kerio was better.
    - Kerio didn't block referres and cookies when using avant browser, outpost blocked.
    - Outpost blocked pcaudit leaktest, but kerio didn't.

    Others?
