Keeps Hijacking even after CWShredder

I can't shake this this - keeps setting home page to about:blank or whatever.

Before you start, please unzip or move HijackThis to a separate folder of its own. The program will make backups in the folder it's in. These easily get lost in a temporary folder or a folder with other programs.

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

Download CWShredder and run. Be sure ALL other windows are closed and use the Fix button and follow the instructions you will receive.

There also may be hidden files. See HERE for how to show hidden files.

Then reboot into safe mode and delete:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\iodldl.dll
sp.html <-- You amy have to do a search for this file.

Reboot and then post a fresh HijackThis log.

Thanks Kent,

I could not find iodldl.dll or sp.html anywhere. Also, my Windows Media Player will not start at all! Just makes the same sound as trying to delete mail from OE. No menu, no nothing. So the virus has blocked WMP somehow.

I will add the regfile as a .txt file so all you have to do is download it if necessary, save it as wmpversion.reg, doubleclick it and confirm you want to merge it with the registry.

Thanks - I reinstalled WMP 9 and all is well again (but not of course my ekcjdg.dll problem)

Is that correct that mwp.dll should be
"wmp.dll"=hex:00,00,09,00,a4,0b,00,00 ?

I have
"wmp.dll"=hex:00,00,09,00,a3,0c,00,00

My regfile is meant to fool Windows into thinking that an older version is installed so it will accept the install for the new one.

Can you download the latest version of HijackThis and post a new log?
