I think Kaspersky are getting ready to start 2014 beta so far it looks like they have renamed the 2013 beta section of the forum to 2014 but no threads yet,

Judging by past experience, KAV/KIS betas tend to run during the spring months so expect announcements anytime soon.

I guess there wasn't much that needed to change, but I bet they have improved much of the current modules under the hood (that's not visible to the user). After all they have yearly releases and if they would add new features in every edition..... well then it quickly would become something more than just a security suite :)

Actually they improved every minor version them. But this is major version right?
All listed changes is looks like minor changes. "Touch Screen support." example. There is not Avast's Evo-Gen like technology addition

Every vendor say that when release their product. Faster, Better :) We will see ;)

    @guest.

We must be thankful that not all potential users have the same negative attitude which you seem to possess. The beta has only just been announced and people are saying that it has this and has that,Lets just wait until it is final before making any such generalisations.

i cant say i am optimist, off course :)
but i can say easly it is not impressive release for me.
    this is my personel idea.

they release beta version. probably they will not add new secret feature. wait and see.

however i dont say KIS/KAV bad, i am talking about version history.
KIS 2013 has got dramatic version history. (dropped safezone, safe pay, ... )

is it bad? i tried it and it was succesfully

No no, he probably meant that Evo-gen is Avasts technology (developed by Avast for Avast), so Kaspersky would need to develop something similar on their own if they wanted to use such technology in their products :D

I said it because this is Avast's tech .. I know it's good I test it everyday (channel "spywarosaurus").
It was just a reply to your post.

Yes yes, this is what i said :)
Evo-gen is very effective and nice technology. And i think Avast released really major upgrade.

i am trying KIS, But it is still unfinished. i am getting alert like "this functionality is not implemented yet" and i cant find "vulnerability scan"

But i see "default denny" section, it look similar Comodo's way

Threw it in a virtual machine (I would not test on a production machine). It is a little rough with unimplemented features and such but it is a first beta so that is expected. I think it looks promising though and I will definitely be following the betas.

Naturally a few things will be limited at this stage but i dont like the metro look.:argh:
I believe kaspersky had default deny before comodo.FWIW.

...and I prefer it to the MacOS look it has had for the last 2 years.
all a matter of taste. ;)

From what I can see the "Default deny" is an on demand option which scans the system for unknown apps (via cloud data) and moves them to Untrusted group so they can't be executed at all, instead of relying on on-execution heuristics in HIPS which assigns Low/High/Untrusted status.
