that's only a pre-beta thing, closer to 6.5 acording to the project manager. still a nice touch to it. jsut be carefull with the activation, beta codes make
    it crash.

Please Be Aware it's just a pre pre release version.
this is by far not the Beta version. That will come out in a few weeks.

the new ods patch delivered seems to be like nod's anti-stealth, low level HDD scanning for hidden files.

No, izi, this is not a beta and should only be installed by those that want's take part in the most hardcore testing because it is not even close a full featured buld and is only meant for testing some modules for version 7.0, the GUI is still 6.0 btw.

Offcourse the release depends on the beta period.
What I've heard it will probably be the end of this year or the beginning of 2008

So if KAV 7 will be released later this year, does anyone here know what Kaspersky's upgrade policy will be for folks that purchase KAV 6 at a good price today?

EDIT: Never mind - I found a good hint on this page:
    http://www.kaspersky.com/upgrade

Active licenses of KAV 5 can be upgraded to KAV 6 for free. I suppose there's a good chance KAV 6 => KAV 7 will work the same way.

They've had the same license policy for all the years I've owned KAV - a current license key entitles you to a free upgrade if desired.
