I have installed the trial version of KAV6 and after a few days it came up with the message The Programme Has been Disconnected. The PC now crashes and resets itself sometimes now. I read somewhere that there was an exploit that did this to KAV - including a false crash to reset the PC - see http://www.rohitab.com/discuss/lofiversion/index.php/t19416.html

How can I get KAV working again and remove any exploit?

    Cheers,

    ChrisP

I agree with C.S.J, if you think you may be infected, download Dr.Web CureIt Utility, it is one of the few AV's that can be run on an already infected machine.

    To all:

Let's at least leave a little room for the KAV folks to come by and offer their comments as it relates to this possible KAV problem. Jeesh....it's like a bunch of vultures with all these different product suggestions to fix what might be a simple KAV problem.

Panic... Vultures all around
    LOL

Calm down for a minute :D

I think it might be unrelated to any exploit...
If you go to KL forum, you will read about recently implemented key blacklisting which has turned some installations inoperative.
It seems that, at some point, it also caught some legal / trial installs, so better read their suggestions on it.

ChrisP, if you find any infected / suspicious files, please send them to Kaspersky for analysis. :)

I have scanned with that AV and it found nothing. I have also scanned with Eweido (if thats how you spell it) and nothing was found.

KAV becomes disconnected during the update or crashes during update.

    Help!

Chris, your problem has nothing to do with that page you linked to. Simply uninstall the trial , reboot and install it again, the latest trial is 6.0.1.411 btw.
