    Changelog :

    Enhancements:

    1. Support of kavshell.exe (launching tasks from the command line) has been added.

    2. Support of diff-files has been added allowing to decrease the size of updates being downloaded.

    3. Common storage facility for infected objects (GTIF) has been implemented.

    4. Application password protection mechanism has been modified.

    5. All application passwords are stored in the protected form.

    6. Application modules updates installation facility has been modified.

    7. Support for disinfection and deletion of malicious objects in ICE and LHA archives has been implemented.

    8. Algorithm for working with quarantine has been modified (support for parallel work with the storage, quarantine scan is now a separate task having its own report).

    9. An ability to copy lines from the report into the clipboard has been added.

    10. A dialog box for selecting a threat from the list has been modified (threats list generation process has been made faster, list filtration has been implemented, shortcut has been menu added).

    11. Updates downloading dialog box has been modified (display of extended statistical data, when an error occurs, detailed information about this error will be displayed).

    12. The set of additional application settings has been extended.

    13. Kaspersky Anti-Virus operation recovery system after errors has been added.

    14. Behavior of kav.exe in case of a failure in the service process has been modified.

    15. An ability to configure scan performed at the operating system startup has been added. The on-demand scan settings now additionally include the ability to configure exclusions from the scope of the operating system startup scan (disk boot sectors, system memory and startup objects can be excluded).

    16. An ability to send inquiries to the Kaspersky Lab’s Technical Support Service via helpdesk.

    17. Setting “Pause the anti-virus scan at the system startup for longer than” has been added.

    18. Setting “Do not launch scheduled scan if the battery charge is below” has been moved from the task schedule settings to the additional application settings. Now this setting is common for all tasks.

    19. Ability for the user to confirm the launch of a scheduled task has been implemented (as was done earlier for the updating task). The launch of the task can be delayed in the corresponding dialog box. The task will be launched automatically in 3 minutes if no option has been selected.

    20. If you need to reload IDS (new network attacks database or enabling/disabling protection against network attacks) the corresponding information containing the link to be followed in order to reload IDS will be displayed in the real-time protection status.

    21. Ability has been added to use the environment variables when specifying the scan paths, exclusions, trusted processes, folders in the settings of the updating process, quarantine and backup storage.

    22. Memory consumption by the Microsoft Internet Explorer during scripts scan has been reduced.

    23. The sound scheme has changed. Event “Task completion” has been removed, events “Launching on-demand objects scan task”, “Launching scheduled objects scan task”, “Completing objects scan task”, “Error performing objects scan task”, “Launching on-demand update task”, “Launching scheduled update task”, “Completing update task”, “Error performing update task”, “Launching real-time protection task”, “Completing real-time protection task”, “Error performing real-time protection task”, “Network attack detected” have been added.

    24. Ability has been added to exclude file activities of some software processes specified by the user from the scan scope.

    25. The on-demand scan task configuration dialog box has been enhanced.

    26. The following tasks have been added to the tasks list: "Quarantine scan", "Critical areas scan".

    27. Ability to disable the disk boot sectors scan. Previous version did not allow disabling the scan of disk boot sectors when the user selected the "My computer" object or a specific drive (this action particularly did not allow disabling the scan of disk boot sectors in the full computer scan task).

    28. Objects placed into the quarantine and the backup storage are now displayed in the Protection tab.

    29. Running tasks item now appears in the shortcut menu if one of the scan tasks is running.

    Known problems:

    1. Description of some dialog boxes in the help system is not provided.

    2. Incompatibility with OpenVPN

I allready had a post about it here :)

I tried it: constant invalid database / license key notifications after every reboot, redownloads of the complete bases (7+ MB) etc.

So, needless to say this version has been kicked from my machine for now :)
