is Kaspersky Security Suite 6.0 the same as Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0? because ive only tried teh latter.

anyways, as far as security suites go, Kaspersky is my favorite. in addition to what Debator has listed, its firewall is pretty good and for all its features, KIS 6 is low on resources and still uses only two processes.

I have started using KIS just recently and like it so far.

Previously, I was using KAV and Agnitum Outpost. The firewall in KIS isn't as powerful or contain the amount of features like Outpost but it is still a good basic firewall in the suite.

I have been using the trial of Kaspersky Internet Security since the last 20 days or so and I have found to be extremely stable and light on resources and has good scanning speeds as compared to its previous versions.
The antivirus component of it has always been top notch and the antispyware protection being offered is pretty adequate for a user who is looking for everything in one package. The firewall is pretty basic as already pointed out by a user above but overall its a very good security suite and better than many others I have come across in the past new years ,its Antipop blocking is the most feature I actually love :)

Yep, it is pretty good. One of the best suites around. Norton has a great one with 2007 and I have to admit, I am awaiting the one from Eset, as I am sure it will be at the top.

Here is what looks to be a good sale, $9.99 after rebates, for KIS 6.

    http://www.compusa.com/adproducts/product_info.asp?pfp=ADPRODUCTS&N=[/url]
    500458+200163&product_code=339377&Pn=Kaspersky_Internet_Security_6_0

Sorry that the link does not take one directly to KIS, so will have to search, but it comes up when searched for.

    Best,
    Jerry

To me as a general user, KIS seems stable already. What could MP1 possibly improve?

MP1's a newer version... think of it as 6.1.***. Its got some additional features and few enhancements, minor changes in its GUI and a little more stable. Yes, KIS6 seems stable enough to me as well, but there are a few people who are experienceing minor problems. Not a large diffrence, but there's allways room for improvement, as for all programs.

The Maintenance Pack should be highly welcomed if it has the new and nifty features which will make KIS even a better suite!

it's good but sometime it's to proactive as I've had it claim a couple of my game exe are viruses which they are not, I use it on my desktop but because everytime I get a new exe from the one company in question KISS calls it a virus. It has also do this on other programs so while I think highly of it be careful what you delete...

Probabily FalsePosotives, I havent had any myself, but a few users have. Some games may be noted as "riskware" with a yellow warning, which doesnt mean its a virus, just means make sure you know what it is and where it came from, because it has the ability to do damadge if the server the file belongs to wants to use it as a tunnel into your PC.

If you think you have any FalsePosotives, zip the file and send it to newvirus@kaspersky.com, where it will be doublechecked by a Virus Analyst and if it is a FP, it wont pop up as a virus again (after getting the verification by Analyst and doing an update)

it's a very small game that isn't played by 100,000 or more like Tiger Woods or something so I haven't bothered to send it, the customer base is low so doubtful it would be worthwhile for Kaspersky to work on it...

If you activate Proactive Defense (not activated by default) and set the firewall on "teaching mode" or "high", the firewall is very strong. Whole bunch of popups though ( which do not bother me- they are easy to judge)
