Geez, there isnt even a contest here. I would pay double for Kas before taking a free Bit 10.

Kas 6 has no bugs, Kis yes. Anti-slacker sucks. But I have to wonder if this isnt the product to be watching for the first of the year. But they do have a ways to go and dont download their beta, you will really have a headache. Let them figure it out, but, I like Don and something tells me, he wont say something, just to look foolish later on. I think he calls it straight. If it is a rose, he calls it a rose. If it smells like crap, he stays silent. So Kas may be the one that proves us all wrong.

Having used KAV6 since the beta days, I have not noticed any bugs. It has run extremely well.
It is obvious that BD10 does have some problems. For me it would be an obvious choice - KAV.

After running KIS 6 for a while I'm running BitDefender right now. I must say it runs smoother than KIS. PC is speeding up and it passed all the Firewall and port scans.

Before I started using Norton I used Bitdefender which let a virus go by and destroy my computer. Never again!

Yes, every AV can let by something that "destroys" your PC. Problem is just that some people have the "destroy" level set very low (eg destroyed means having some adware thats constantly showing popups).

I have not found bugs in KAV6 and have used it since the last few weeks of the beta. It runs smoothly on my system with no conflicts.
I do not know about BD10, but the v9 had so many conflicts that I removed it even though I still have a valid license for a few months yet.

I am sure that KAV is lighter, scans much faster, and has a better detection rate. Also the support for Kaspersky is far superior.

It is no contest for me based upon my own experiece - KAV6.

In my experience, KAV is better, but not by too much. BitDefender 10 solves many of the compatibility problems that plagued version 9, and the detection rates are not so bad either. In my personal experience, BD's detection rates are getting a bit better.

If you have the extra money then I suggest you go for KAV. Or else you can have BD. Both are very nice. As such Kaspersky will have a new heuristic engine at the end of the year, so you're warranted on that front too. :)

I didn't noticed any bugs and/or problems with KAV v6.

Can you name some of these "bugs"?

I think the bugs, if any, are related to compatability with other security programs rather than the program itself. Since there are so many security programs out there, it can hardly be 100% compatability and 100% bug free.

I still feel that Kas is way ahead of Bit, and with changes coming, can only make it better.

Even if I am from the country BD is made I must say that it has a very good detection and triple the problems KAV + KIS have together.

to be honest, i think there are quite a few extremly great softwares on the market now, most have improved and to be honest, id feel safe using quite a few of them.

    kis vs bitdefender is 10?

i would have to say bitdefender, its very very close, but i really dont like kasperskys firewall, and i have had problems with it, especially with allowing programs to connect etc (allow deny)

its a cose contest and i would recommend both, it depends on your preference.

currently im using the new trend micro internet security 2007, and i must say... other than the high ram usage (if this doesnt affect you), i would very muxh, highly recommend this software aswell.
