    1.01 is a *true* update. That is, install it right over K-mel 1.0. No need to save config files etc -- they remain undisturbed.

    how good is k-meleon as compared to opensource cousin firefox?

    Similar in some respects to Firefox in that it uses the same Mozilla gecko engine, and subsequently will have, more or less, the same security strengths / weaknesses as FF.
    It's a tweaker's delight in that it allows for all sorts of menu, toolbar customization.

    well i know that,what i meant is does it support extensions to make it more customized to the needs of the user..

    Why not download K-Meleon and give it a go. It won't affect any of your other browsers.

    Two items to go over after installation would be Edit, preferences and Tools, privacy.

    It is also a tabbed browser. The tabs are called layers in K-Meleon. Same difference.

    It is the speediest browser out there.

    i will try it,the reason why asked the question was because i can't do w/o roboform/adblock-plus/flashgot extensions of FF.
    even if roboform/flashgot work,my day will be successful.
