And you guys really trust what corrupted gov't in Belize says about that guyo_O In my eyes he did the right thing running. They would have tortured him into confession. As far as I see it McAfee is innocent until proven guitly. More than likely however he has crossed someone in the gov't and now he is paying for it.

A shame that this concept seems to be forgotten, even in the modern 'democratic' countries..

For one thing, you probably need tostudy a bit more about Mr. McAfee. An innocent man being harassed by big, bad government and his rights being trampled on he is not. He both admits to and is well known for being very close to organized crime and the drug trade, also being a heavy user himself. Furthermore, none of us have a clue what happened between him and the very much dead individual. All we do know is that it involves his dead dogs and this dead man. For all you know, John McAfee blew a hole in the back of the mans head and walked off. This has absolutely nothing to do with corrupt governments and everything to do with whether or not he is guilty, which is not for us to decide, but the police in Belize. We're not exactly talking about Somalia here. The GSU won't be winning any awards for best conduct anytime soon, but spend some time in a few other Latin American areas and I assure you you'll find far worse.

Edit: News is coming in of him claiming to have made his way out of Belize with the help of staff from Vice magazine..who should be extremely thankful he is wanted for questioning and has not been charged, thereby shielding them from aid and abetting charges. There are also reports of a body double plan that didn't quite work out. Once I find the story reported on more mainstream websites, I'll provide a link.

Cocky fellow he is. His luck will run out eventually. Either he'll be ratted out, get too relaxed or run into politics.

"John McAfee was taken into police custody in Guatemala on Wednesday for being in the country illegally, police there have confirmed.

The McAfee Security founder had fled to Guatemala to avoid authorities in neighboring Belize, where he is wanted for questioning in the gunshot murder of his neighbor Greg Faull. McAfee has repeatedly claimed to be innocent. He was first reported detained by Robert King, a Vice photographer he was traveling with, who, oddly, likely contributed to McAfee’s capture."

Using social media, taking photos with location-data enabled high tech iPhones, blogging, bringing along media with him on his runs from the law and illegal entries into countries a good bit worse than the one he bailed from. The brightest bulb on the Christmas tree he isn't. I'm pretty much hoping this is what I think it is, and Guatemala is about to hand over McAfee to Belize with a little red bow on his head. With all this going on, my ability to believe he might be innocent is waning.

Hopefully the court doesn't waste time about it.

Well that's a different turn of events. And, it looks like the court didn't waste one bit of time. I hope he pulls through, and then back to Belize he should go, which looks like will indeed happen.

Looks like he wasn't seriously ill at all... perhaps he just had a virus.

I see what you did there :D Actually it wouldn't surprise me at all if he took something to make himself look sick or did some other stupid thing. Regardless, he's now screwed, and his little media tag-a-longs are mostly to blame. Vice screwed up, plain and simple, and they may have just dug themselves into the same hole Mcafee is about to be buried in.
