Java 7 Update 7

    I had Java & Java FX in Add/Remove. I uninstalled both to fresh install latest Java. I installed the latest from official site but now there is only Java in add/remove, no Java FX. Any info.

    What is Java FX?

    When I had Java 6, it updated & Java FX was installed along with Java. I thought it was important & something related to Java.

    But today when I uninstalled both & did a fresh install of latest Java I got only Java & no Java FX, I wonder why? Any info?

    Apparently, FX comes bundled with the JDK, not the JRE. AFAIK, unless you're a developer, you don't need the JDK - only the JRE is required to run Java apps.

    Having java installed is not the huge vulnerability some make it out to be. If it's not integrated into your browser or is blocked by default and only allowed on sites you know and trust, the risk is minimal.
