    Hi Gang!
I recently installed NOD32 (2.7 from the trial link) to try out it's support for Vista x64.

Other than a UAC prompt everything went normally. After installation I was prompted to reboot, which I did.

Issue 1: Upon POST, my system gives me the "DISK BOOT FAILURE:" message. I tried a couple reboots to see if it would "clear up" but had no luck.

Solution 1: Used the Vista setup/install dvd to enter REPAIR INSTALLATION and ran the "startup repair". This resolved the issue.

Question 1: Has anyone else run unto this on Vista or Vista x64? I know removing a storage device can cause this issue, but my hardware and software config had not changed in the last couple boots other than installing NOD.

Issue 2: The news articles recently circulating about ESET's support for 64 bit vista indicate that the GUI portion of the application runs in 32 bit, while the kernel driver will reside in the the 64 bit world.

Looking at this screenshot of my taskmanager, I see *32 after the 3 references to NOD...

Question 2Shouldn't the kernel one not have this tag after it's name, isn't that portion of the program supposed to have native 64 bit support?

AMON and IMON are 64-bit, that's enough. Remember that the scanning core is written completely in assembler so it's not that easy to port it to 64-bit. The point is NOD32 works flawlessly on x64 Win systems.

    Hello,

I have typically seen "DISK BOOT FAILURE" error messages when dealing with a hardware problem, such as a faulty hard disk drive or drive controller, or a faulty or loose data cable. I cannot recall ever having seen the error involving NOD32.

You may wish to check the hard disk drive you are using with a diagnostic program downloaded from the hard disk drive manufacturer's web site to make sure there are no problems with the hard disk drive.

    Regards,
