A friend enthusiastically recommended isearch.com as a resource for locating college scholarships (I have several others already). I did a google search & was astounded to see multiple references to problems with an "isearch toolbar". I've looked at several of the references (incl in this forum) and could find nothing definitive on whether or not isearch.com is connected with the toolbar or if it was just a coincidence. I am kind of paranoid about visiting a website that might perform actions I don't agree to. Is the toolbar part of the site?

    Welcome to the forum Tom,

    Here's what I could locate dated May 20, 2004 - http://www.mae.ufl.edu/sysinfo/spyware_news.htm

    Update: Answer as I conclude, yes. isearch.com > isearch.com/faq.php > toolbar.isearch.com/uninstall/
They all share the same ip range along with idownload.com - 216.130.160.0/216.130.191.255

This appear's to be the homepage belonging to your friend's referral (though I could be wrong).
    Switching to their 'help' page.
    http://www.usabid.com/isearch/help/

Should the above link fall short consider looking through a good resource center that can briefly sum up the many different scholarship searches available, or learn how to get the most out of Google. Either way, happy trail's!
