Is Windows XP firewall enough to block ARP, ICMP or other nasty inbound stuff? Because I'm planning to switch from a security suite to a free antivirus program w/o a firewall.

If you are normal surfer then its safe to use Win XP firewall and yes it doesn't block ARP bound messages, also an important thing always keep your OS up-to-date:)

1nvad3r, Wilders has a Windows XP firewall tutorial, written by Stem, that could show you the settings, options and filtering capabilities of the windows XP firewall. Just FYI.
