That is (supposedly) a standalone version of NOD32. The date just reflects the date of the included definitions.

Just stay with what you have and also remember to get NOD32 downloads direct from the ESET website or trusted download site like FileForum or MajorGeeks.

The NOD32 installer should be in the 11-12MB range, not 8MB. It is not something you need to download anyway as you are already using NOD32.

:D Now that's interesting. Looks like I have to ask again if I should update to a particular version - this time the version 2.70.39 you are pointing me to. Reason being when I select "Update Now" via the NOD Control panel it returns a window indicating that "My version of NOD 32 is up to date. No update necessary".

My present version is 2.70.32 with virus signature database 2530 (20079014) dated September 14, 2007.

2.70.39 just hasnt been released as a component update (yet?). I dont know what was fixed in the new version but updating should be fine.
