Is this Nod on demand scanner leget?

It does not appear to have a digital signature. When ran it puts up no suspicious activity, as per Prevx. I ran it through a couple online multi-scanners and it came back clean. Just no digital sig is a little weird. This does not install, just runs on demand and looks to be updated daily with sigs included in download.

 

This one is definitely legit, and can be smart installed as an on-demand scanner on your computer. It includes automatic signature updating.

 

VT shows 0/43 and also it looks like V2 of NOD32 that works on Win NT

i downloaded a rootkit, a trojan and a fakeav on my desktop and scanned with this on demand scanner. it found all of them. so the virus database is up to date. it`s a pitty eset doesn`t make an on demand scanner like this one...not the online scan...

 

eset has an on-demand offline scanner - distributed by an unknown ru-site?

ESET Online Scanner is a On-Demand-Scanner able to download signature database to your computer.

Having said that..... here you have the installer:

The main application is found under "%programFiles%\eset\eset online scanner"

if i remember correctly there was a modified "unofficial" version of v2. used an outdated engine though definitions can be downloaded since eset still supports v2.
ps: for "unofficial" i mean pre-cracked, thus illegal... dont know if its the same thing though

 

I suspect V2 doesn't benefit from the more advanced scanning technology in V3 and V4. And any cracked version shouldn't be trusted anyway......

Better to use the full versions currently offered by ESET, whether that's the installable or online versions.
