I had PG "Locked" just now when I clicked on TaskManager from DCS. Apparently, I hadn't run it since installing v.3000 and PG popped up a window asking me if I wanted to allow it.

    I did and it did.

Doesn't that kind of gut the "locking" feature?

Or am i mis-understanding it? Pete

(That was the last one for today - I'm already late for getting ready to go to work!).

The lock feature prevents changing any PG settings. But if it is set so when you run a new exe, PG would provide a challenge, that you can allow something to run, it will still allow it to run.

If you don't want that then check Block new and changed applications. This way PG want ask, it will just block it, and a user couldn't change that setting it PG is locked.

Is a user on a non-admin profile given the same option?

IOW, can they download, install and run something and allow it through PG while PG is "locked"?

Or can only ADMIN privilege users do that? Pete

All the lock does is prevent changing the setting. Anything that can happen with current settings and PG unlocked can also happen when PG is locked. What can't happen is having the settings changed.
