We are using Acronis on both pcs and a server. The server doesn't have a cd writer on it. Can I create one cd for all pcs and server recovery or is each recovery disk different based on (os or ip etc)?

    Thanks!

    Hello blueskies,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please note that Bootable Rescue CD is Linux based and has it's own assortment of drivers for the wide variety of modern hardware. In other words, it does not depend on the hardware configuration of the system it was created on and so can used on both computers. However, please note that different versions of Acronis True Image create different bootable CD. Such as Bootable CD created with Acronis True Image 9.0 Home does note have functions that are specific for Acronis True Image 9.1 Server for Windows and which are included to the bootable CD created with Acronis True Image 9.1 Server for Windows. I would anyway recommend you to have at least one reserve copy of Bootable Rescue CD, just in case the original disc will be lost or damaged for some reason.

Please also be aware that according to Acronis software licensing policy, you should purchase one copy of Acronis program per every computer where it will be used.

    Thank you.

    Thanks Alexsandr.

Can you suggest away to create the Windows Server bootable cd from a server which doesn't have cd writer installed? Can Acronis create an ISO image which can be downloaded to another pc and burned from there?

All our pcs and server are licensed.

    Thanks.

Yes. In V9 at least, the 'bootable rescue media wizard' lets you choose the target. One of these is ISO.
