I thought this program died 3 years ago or so.... I was just surprised to see it mentioned on MajorGeeks.com that it just had a definitions update...

Back in 2005, Ad-Aware 6 and SpybotS&D were the best anti-malware programs but I dont know how do they perform with today's threats.

Please tell me if I need any of the above or not...here is my setup:

    Bitdefender Internet Security 2013
    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (on demand)
    SUPERAntiSpyware (on demand)

I recently also ditched Emsisoft Emergency Kit v2.0.0.9 because it finds too many false positives

While I have not used the spybot scanner tool in a long time, I have used his other tools like the fileanalyzer and regristry tool more recently.

I still use the portable version. The scan is fast and removes lots of crapware.

I can confirm that after running Kaspersky Rescue Disk, TDSS Killer, Combofix, removing toolbars using Iobit uninstaller, and running a full scan with Emsisoft Emergency Kit, Spybot portable still detects and remove stuff...

That's good to know, I might give it another try once version 2 is finalized.

Back in the day as someone said, it was used by me. It seemed as time went on to take more and more resources. Seemed even at 'rest' it would take right much. I moved on. I was really fond of it...'back in the day' ;)
