    I have used it in the past for making voice calls...it didnt cause me any trouble related to spyware or adware.

    Is it better/lighter than google talk. googletalk seems smaller (lessthan 1Mb)

    Skype is an excellent program, malware free, I have not tested Google talks voice chat, but I can say that Skype works very well, even on dialup systems its crystal clear.
