Is Microsoft VPN a security risk?

    Is Microsoft VPN a security risk? It is installed on my computer, which is running Windows 98 SE. I never use it, and doubt that I will any time soon (if ever). So I was thinking that it might be a good idea to remove the dialup adapter and other network stuff associated with it. I'm not sure if it's possible, though. I seem to recall removing some (or all) of it in the past, only to have it show up again later.
