I'm using 422 currently, but had no problem with Gmail using the 357 build and Firefox 3.

Why don't you just use the English version that IS available?

It may be the personalized google stuff?

And looking at the Firefox forum you can see that loads of people have this problem with FF3 and Kaspersky.

    Hello
the firefox crashing problem is known, and will probably be fixed by the C hotfix.

I know that by reading the info, but it's that an option? Why does it happen at all?! And why wait for a hotfix C? This must not be a big problem to solve, while it is a problem for the users.

little tick box=don't show this message or run msconfig on startup, tick it!(don't just click on "ok" button)
You could use "autoruns" bys sysinternals(owned by Microsoft nowadays)

Just downloaded kaspersky it has all the bells and whistles while still very light.I wonder though if the reccomended settings are good enough or should they be tweaked.

Come on, it's not getting bloated. Where do you find that bloatness? Maybe the GUI may make it feel bloated, but it's not. When, when you scan your computer your first time? That's only the first time, other times it isn't noticeable. It's very light, even firefox uses more resources than it!

Many more programs use more than KIS :) Eagerly waiting for a version which makes Firefox 3 not clash...

I guess I'm a lucky guy. No problems with high memory usage, BSODs, web anti-virus problems, corrupted icons, slow browsing or Firefox crashes.:D

no one asked about problem but bloatness of the program & while ceertainly an excellent program it has too many settings that IMO need to be tweaked that's what people IMO mean by bloat, it does more than just the basics & you have to be honest with all that it does it's not basic...you do need a littel AV knowledge to run the thing...

Bloat refers to all the glitzy features and excessive resource usage of an app, not how complex its settings are.

I agree. A product like many internet security complete packages have, If its light On resources IMO it is not bloated. Also some folks have numerous seperate security apps at a given Time, that can be considered a bloated machine.Just my OP though. As Far as kaspersky goes, It is running very light on my rig. perhaps even lighter then multiple security apps together.

I think whether or not users "feel it's bloated" is actually down to their preconceptions as to how it will be,if they think its going to be bloated their mindset will convince themseves that it is,how can having "too many" settings be classed as"bloat":-a product is only bloated if the settings serve no purpose, just cosmetic to appeal to "tweakers" or the product itself runs slow/hogs resources, neither of these things hold true with Kis

my own personal test for bloat is set by my wife...no no not that but if I put a piece of AV/suite on her machine & she asks me more than 3 questions it's bloatware ;)
