is it worth it to use AVG (Free) instead of KAV?

    important... not really.

    you get the same from using Firefox/Opera.

    personally, Firefox and noscript is perfect for the job.

    I would agree that Avast Home is a very good choice for a free AV.

    I am currently using it on three PCs, and one of those is used by a teen; so far there have been no infections on any of them......the PCs or the teen :eek::D

    There are two kinds of scripts:
    - Scripts interpreted by the browser (usually Javascript). These scripts are the ones used in drive-by downloads and XSS. Firefox w/NoScript protects against both.
    - Scripts interpreted by the Windows Script Host. These scripts are used to automate tasks and for script viruses. Disabling WSH or intercepting the execution of scripts has been a common recommendation for increased security. Firefox w/NoScript does nothing here.
