Recently created a Windows 7 VM which takes up 25 GB of space. Unfortunately the Windows 7 OS itself take up about 18 GB which only leaves 7 GB for the rest of the VM. I want to expand the virtual partition to 60 GB so that I have much more free space on my Windows 7 VM. How can this be done?

Unfortunately it can't be done as far as I can tell. 18 gigs sounds high for the OS though - my Windows 7 folder is 13 gigs (I know, still pretty big). You might want to have a closer look at how the space is being used with a graphic disk analyzer like WinDirStat or SequoiaView.

There is a tutorial using GParted live in this link. I've used GParted before to successfully resize the virtual disk in VMWare.
