That's what I am asking, as I tried to make the first step of establishing Software Restrictions new Policies in gpedit.msc >Computer config. >Windows Settings >Security Settings : I tried to right click, but to no avail,it wouldnt work at all.

So I figured it must be GeSWall free, which is forbidding any move over there.

    Is that so?

In this instance I would have to uninstall the program,as I cannot see any way out inside its GUI.

I am very reluctant to uninstall it and I wonder if ,after uninstalling it and making the planned SRP modifications as outlined by Tlu and mechBgon , I would still need GeSWall or if the latter is compatible with a modified SRP.

I can't help you with your questions but if you open the GW user interface and set the protection level to it's lowest setting, it's on the bottom, I think it's green, that is almost as good as turning off all protection from what I've been told.
That might be enough to accomplish what you want.
    Good luck.

it could be, it's happened to me before where geswall wouldn't let me modify anything using gpedit.

do what hugger said and check the geswall log. if you find it is geswall causing the problem, let the devs know over at gentlesecurity.com

Setting GeSWall to its lowest setting (Isolate jailed applications) was the first thing I did (I do that also before installing anything) before trying SRP, Hugger and zopzop, thanks for answering, but unfortunately to no effect.
I also set Comodo D+ to training mode and shutdown Boclean, just in case.

I will ask at gentlesecurity, for sure, even though I suspect the only way out is temporarily (I wouldnt like to give up GesWall) uninstall the program.
I hope these new SRP settings wont interfere with GeSWall own settings,I dont think so,but....

When I look at what you're using I can't help but wonder if there's not a conflict of some sort between some of these programs.
I tred GW a few times and liked it. But I went with DW because, after a short learning curve, I found it much easier for me to use.
    Good luck.

Hugger, no, I dont think there's any conflict really among the security applications I mentioned, namely Comodo with the HIPS part of Defense+ and GeSWall free, they cover different aspects with different methods, while ,even if GeSWAll is in the way of SRP modifications, I consider it is really doing its job, more than being a relatively minor nuisance.

As to Boclean,it does not interfere with anything at all, most of the time hardly noticeable.

I tried DW in the past, I like the program very much, too, but it cant beat GW in regard to simplicity: you just install, make one or two choices, plus perhaps the colour , and that's it, and for keeps.
I think they are both great programs, anyway.
    Thanks for the good wish,
