Anyone have any comments on its effectiveness? I dont care about the MBAM fiasco. Im not concerned with that. Right now another website is offering a free subscription to Pro so I figured Id see how things go.

I guess what Im the most concerned about is the actual technology behind the DOG (Digital Original Gene) and what makes it different than your standard heuristics?

Dude, it's a PRODUCT, people like you need to get over it, if they do it again, you can tell me "told you so", but before that, take the product for what it is and dun care about the rest.

I just stated my opinion. If you trust them fine. I don't.

The difference is the name, they found a cool name for heuristics :D

"Genetic neural networks patterns" I'm going to register the name :D

Now seriously if it were something really special I would be well explained in their website, now we can just read this

I never said I trusted them, now did I? I said it's a product. I'm neither for it, nor against it, I take it as an object I can abuse for my own purposes, just like any other app., be it Windows or Mac or any other OS/device.

If someone does not care about what Iobit did to MBAM in the past, then you've got a problem. I'm never going to use an Iobit product unless they compensate MBAM financially... and a little crawling to beg for forginess would also be nice. :D.

    Thanks.

It's not any other app, it's a Chinese app. One never knows what goes behind the scenes in that part of the world; it's a different reality.

It was obvious you did not like what I wrote. It sounded like you were defending them so it made it seem lik you trust them. Whatever though I'm not arguing with you over it. I have my own opinion of Iobit and it's not good.

MBAM fanboys really need to stay out of these threads. It's pointless and annoying.

I gave this program a test, it seemed to give a lot of false positives but other than that, the detection of infections seemed to be okay.

Uninstalled already. I wasnt able to shut my computer down after installation without unplugging the power cord and taking out the battery on my laptop. Boot time was 45 minutes. I had to remove it in safe mode. I couldnt even kill the process in a standard admin account because it blocked Task Manager.

Best tool would be a disk imaging, installation CD, or virtualization.

I don't really need to say anything about IObit that I haven't said before.
