    hi all,

When outpost blocks an intruder, are there any disadvantages? For instance, might this alert the person scanning your ports that in fact the computer exists? Currently, block is set to 60mins.

    thanks,

    WW

no, outpost stealths ur ports so script kiddies wouldnt be able to see that the ports (computer) is responding/existent. one thing i should add is that whatever amount u set it to block itll take that long to get results on port scans like grc shieldsup test.

  3. thanks for the reply,

its odd you say that about GRC because i always perform tests there on my ports with intruder block at 60 mins and the test still goes ahead just fine - completing in around 2 minutes. Also, does anyone know if there are any side effects to blocking sub network also?

    thanks again,

    WW.
