I hate to be a naysayer, again. But, disk imaging is serious business, and people have many reasons to be very sensitive about the reliability of such software. It would have been much better if most of the major bugs were got rid of before a stable version was officially released. Other issue like the checkout site not using HTTPS should have been a quick fix however people still reports the lack of https.
I have been watching this thread for a while, however the recent development here unfortunately goes to a not-so-promising future, IMHO. When devs lose the quick response to customers issues, I don't see a bright future of the product.

    Hi Oliverjia,

We pride ourselves for our uber quick responses to customer issues. Perhaps not so much on Wilders forums, but we'd encourage yourself and all users to direct specific issues to our support email or the live chat on the site.

We respond usually within minutes to hours. The HTTPS issue was fixed a while ago.

As for the other issues people are having, they are being resolved as we speak.

Thank you Sir Froggy for your discovery. It is very much appreciated and will be fixed.

    Regards,

    Waj

    Thanks @wajamus.

Looks like the https issue was fixed earlier today as now when I visit the checkout/payment pages it switches to https.

You seemed to have missed my question, shortly after you took up the helm of AX64 you stated that V1 would be finalised from beta and then move on to newer versions....What happened and why have V1 versions been removed as a download option?....To be frank I think the biggest downfall for AX64 was Isso leaving, however I wish the man good luck in his new ventures as he richly deserves them....I don't want V2 its extra features are of no use to me, but I would like a final version V1...How about it?

Isso has never left the team. We have made v1 available for download here.

It is easy to miss questions on this forum! If you want to have your questions answered in a steadfast way, I suggest you send us a mail to our support e-mail (info@ax64.com) or talk to us on the live chat on the site :)

Despite the 2 questions being of a non-technical nature and straight forward enough I will although you have already answered one by your edited reply with the link....So your email or live service team will know where the final V1 version is to be obtained?

    Hi,

I have also noticed something strange with V2 (build 439) : I had a crash on my Win 8.1 system and performed a chkdsk offline with a boot media, so I expected to have the next incremental backup to be slower, as with V1, but TM V2 simply proposed (required) a full backup. I preferred the previous solution, a slower but smaller differential backup, looking for differences instead of a new full backup. Is this normal ?

    Thannks.

    Hi Clubhouse1

Forgive me, I am not following what you are saying.

But the final v1 release can be obtained here.

    Regards,

    Waj

OK, now I have both answers, the beta versions that followed 1.4.1.124 were cast aside and 1.4.1.124 is now the final version....So much for a final V1....I'm done :)

Yes thanks I know that, I bought V1....I'm not interested in V2, the beta versions of V1 were abandoned despite promises that a final V1 would be released....Not to worry, I feel short changed but its no big deal :)

Edit: do bear in mind that 1.4.1.124 was never intended to be a final, hence the betas that followed it.

    Hi Clubhouse1,

Not quite following you. V1 is v1, it naturally progresses to v2. V2 has new features yes, but it also fixes a thousands of bugs (big and small) that exist in v1. Yes there are new bugs that come with new features, but these will be ironed out in subsequent releases.

The 1.4.1.124 version can be found here.

If memory serves me right, this was released and was the last commercial build of v1. Any subsequent beta releases were to address specific bug issues before going public. Those bug fixes have rolled over to v2.

We do plan to release an official build of v2 that can be activated with a 'v1 key'. This would disable features such as multi-partition imaging, but would allow v1 users to continue to enjoy the fixes.

    Regards,

    Waj

Sorry for selfquoting myself... This is getting weirder : now when I perform a manual backup, TM V2 says it will perform a full backup, it takes as much time as for a full one, but only an incremental file is created (final size is small, after an indication on the main GUI it will be big). How do I get out of this loop ? Use another HDD for instance and perform a full backup. Should I also report this through their support system ? Thanks.

Merleone, thanks for discovering these anomalies. Please send us your logs and this description to info@ax64.com. To gather logs, click on: backup tools > about > click gather logs. Attach these to the e-mail and we shall investigate!

    Thank you.

Not that it matters much, but that's what I recall as well.

Hi, I just sent the log but guess what, this morning TM V2 started to work fine again, the new backup I made was considered as a fast incremental and was indeed fast, and small. Strange but good I guess.

I posted that five days ago and since then there have been 67 additions to this thread but nary a word in reply to the above. I take that to mean there are no advantages of TM over ShadowProtect/ImageManager other than the three I mentioned.

I think Pete is a long time SP user. Perhaps if you send him an IM he could answer your question. :)

Thanks. Following the mail I got from your support, I decided to create a new full backup onto another physical HDD, the former was almost full anyway.
If I want to make some room on the old one, may I manually delete the latest .axd files without losing the ability to restore the remaining ones ?
