Internet Problem Timing out web pages

I am having some problems with the internet on windows that hopefully someone could help with and that is on certain web pages my browser is timing out. Others (a rare amount) seem to "Usually" load fine. This is happening in both firefox and Intenet explorer.

But the problematic web pages sometimes load fine without a hitch. Other times they time out in firefox and internet explorer.

I have linux xandros installed and it is working perfectly for the internet and i havent had a single time out so i dont think it is my connection. I have a Wireless router but i am not using it wirelessly. I uninstalled my Firewall to see if that would help and i unistalled counterspy. but neither helped

Any suggestions. I tried using a program to set my TCP to its recommended settings but it did not work.
