Internet Explorer totally shot

where can i get a replacement for IE - its not found at microsoft.com/downloads

Thanks, but this refers to Win XP users - I run 98SE - will it work with that OS?

I would however try installing the IE v6 first though. If this does not work, uninstall it from the "add/remove program files" in the Control Panel, and then continue with trying to install 5.5. You are going to have to look further if you really want 5.5. Sorry I cannot help anymore. Try this once you get the full install file: http://www.aas.duke.edu/comp/documentation/ie55/ie55.html

If you cannot find 5.5, try using a different web browser like FireFox or Netscape.

 

Ok I found the 5.5 version of Internet Explorer:

Just follow the instructions I posted below for installing and you should be fine - make sure you have deleted the previous version of IE though before you install, otherwise the problem could be carried across from the previous instance.
