internet explorer 8

hi i just installed internet explorer 8
and now when i try and just click ok on the authorization box i get an error and the connection wont go thru, i have three choices in my box just this time , just this session, and direct connection.
If i click the direct connection i can connect and the green octagonal box in my application filtering screen is ok, if i click anything else the octagonal scree is red and no connect. I dont mind doing it this way but I just wanted to make sure I will be protected if I keep pushing the direct connection button and authorizing ie8 to work.

Yes, I confirm you need to select the "Direct Connection" checkbox with IE8.
IE8 is its own parent application.
This seems to be new (at least under XP) compared with the previous version.
