Interesting what ZoneAlarm found...

Hi everyone.. I am using the new ZoneAlarm Pro. It works really smooth so far.. I haven't run into any problems at all. I've just kept AlertAdvisor which is now called SmartDefense Advisor on Automatic because it chooses the right settings for everything it said. Its just been running great... but I found it interesting that even with Spy Sweeper and NOD32 installed on my PC, only ZoneAlarm found that the program Winamp was trying to monitor keystrokes and mouse clicks.

I wonder why NOD32 would of not caught this or even Spy Sweeper?

By the way.. if anyone is using the new ZoneAlarm, any problems so far?

I might have spoke too soon. The anti-spyware manual update doesn`t work for me. Is your`s working OK?

 

Yes, it works fine for me .

 

I think the servers were overloaded for a while.
So far for me the new version seems faster with no problems . Knock on wood

I installed the new ZAP 6 and ran Winamp here and had no such problems. I suspect there's something else going on with your system and Winamp. Using the latest Winamp and no prompts from ZAP at all...

 

It could be a plugin that's been installed in Winamp. Afaik they can do pretty much anything. Keystroke/mouse click monitoring is a bit rude, however.

 

i am not familiar with the new ZA, so i have a few questions:

ZA alerted u when winamp tried monitoring keystrokes and mouseclicks? does it monitors global hooks (like pg)?

why would nod32 or spysweeper try to catch those things? nod32 catches viruses and spy sweeper catches ad/spy-ware.
