Installing new HDD, how do I then partition?

    I am getting a brand new 500GB hard drive put into my laptop today at the PC store, and then I want to take it home and create a C: and D: drive, but how do I do that?

    Is there a boot CD I can use to help me do that?

    Or can I just install W7 on and then inside W7 choose to create a D: ?

    You can use Gparted Live CD / USB from gparted [dot] sourceforge [dot] net, but you can also do that while you are installing W7.
