Incremental backup

If I define a new task and select "Append changes incrementally to the existing archive" the file name for the first time is the name of the full backup.
If I schedule this task every day the name of the file to witch append is always the name of the full backup, is it correct?
The original file (full backup) and the subsequent incremental files are updated by the last task run?

You are correct. The first backup will be a full backup and the following incremental backups are numbered. If you setup a full backup on one day of the week and incrementals on the other 6 days, once a week your backups will be overwritten with the new one so you never have more than 7 images.
